⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Couldn’t put the book down until I read the whole thing!!

“I loved how the Author brought us in and out of his childhood. I love how he addressed how mental illness often starts as a child and quite often goes unnoticed until it becomes an issue. I too experienced a traumatic grade school, as a female growing up in the mid 80’s early 90’s, with ADHD (undiagnosed). I was placed at the back of the class and often made to feel stupid and a burden. I remember more specifically, in grade 5 when I began to struggle in math. I was a bit more behind than the rest of my class and because of this my teacher made me sit in back, facing the wall so I couldn’t distract other students, working on work sheets that were a lot easier than I was capable of doing. They made me feel so stupid. The Author’s experiences in grade school were like mine. I appreciate how the Author highlights the fact that the education system is not designed for kids that may need a little extra support, and how often behaviors are overlooked and instead of finding the reason for the behavior they just give out negative consequences. Like the Author, I too experienced self-esteem problems because of this treatment, feelings of being stupid and a burden to the Teachers. I find it interesting that I too developed Anxiety, could the failing of the school system have brought this on?? If you are looking to read a book that really highlights a genuine raw and real depiction of what it’s like to live with mental illness, then look no further, this is your book.
